UH Gets a scoop of fashion...A La Mode

So you were perusing the site with a couple hours to kill because, that paper that’s due Monday is, well, not due until Monday.

You muse: “getting a head start on it would be the studious and even smart thing to do;” but honestly, you’ve never been a “knock it out ahead of time” type of person. Besides, you do your best thinking on the fly, with about a day or less left to turn in the final, typed, 3-page copy.

Suddenly, a word in the article title catches your eye.

Hello Kitty...for all your academic needs

Since when does the school’s online newspaper care enough about fashion to do an article on it; and when in the world did they start a whole Health, Beauty and Wellness department to report exclusively on style and how to look great?

You panic. What rock have you been under? Did you blink and awaken in the Twilight zone? Has someone abducted the staff of Ka Lamakua and replaced the writers with En Vogue Zombies? Maybe you could read on, after all, need we emphasize again, the paper is not due until Monday!

Budi Staven is back in black
The answer to each of those outlandish questions is no. However, we totally understand why you would ask them. For some odd reason we may never be able to completely explore, the subject of Fashion has been neglected in regards to devoting a serious amount of space or effort to explore them in our publications. Our mistake.

The Bottom Line —>It’s about time UH took fashion as seriously as the rest of the world! That said, the staff of the Kaleo and Ka Lamakua are on a mission in-corporate fashion into our respective publications.

We’ve interviewed, we’ve surveyed, and we’ve opened our eyes and ears.

You wanted a perspective view of local trends and a glimpse of Style the world over! You got a weekly, unbiased report of all things stylish (and sometimes not so stylish) on the UH campus and around Hawaii.

You got Island À La Mode!
