Malia Harunaga – photo contributor
"Malia Harunaga is a 19-year-old intellectual/mastermind who in her spare time is an aspiring artist and freshman at the University of Hawaii. Graduating from Punahou with two art awards of the year, she attempts to express herself through crayon scribble, photographs, graphite sketches and far too much hairspray. Malia enjoys attending shows, photographing subjects from unlikely perspectives, and the smell of newly washed clothes. Birthed and nurtured in the bowels of Oahu she dreams to venture out and attend an art school in the future.
She works at the South Street Gallery and has held jobs at Punahou’s Visual Production Center and as a dentist’s receptionist. Malia recently joined the lovely Ka Lamakua photographing staff with hopes to dominate the world through her devious and artistic genius."
