Since Michael Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, the demand for performers in his likeness has increased tremendously. At the center of this demand is Kenny Wizz, who has been lauded as the world’s foremost Michael Jackson impersonator/tribute artist. Indeed, Wizz so keenly mimics Michael Jackson in appearance, dance, and mannerisms, that the two are at times indistinguishable from one another. For more than a decade, Wizz has entertained audiences across Asia, Europe and the U.S. He has appeared in numerous television shows and publications, including a cameo in Michael Jackson’s documentary/concert film “This Is It”. The Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas obtained a coveted 11 year contract with the talented Kenny Wizz as their official Michael Jackson impersonator/tribute artist. Playing Michael Jackson in the Las Vegas show “Splash” has garnered Wizz an extensive audience throughout the years, including Jackson’s closest critics--mother Katherine Jackson, and Brother Jermaine Jackson. . Every boy at least once in his life wanted to be Michael Jackson. Here’s a man who has dedicated his life to being Him. Therefore it is only fitting that the world’s best Michael Jackson tribute artist, Kenny Wizz, leads the Michael Jackson tribute show.
Michael Jackson was born on August 29th, 1958, and died on June 25th, 2009. In his fifty years on the earth, “The King of Pop” set the standard for musical greatness that has never been surpassed. Michael began his musical career at the age of 5 as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, who formed in 1964. In the early years, the Jackson 5, made up of Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and lead singer Michael, played local clubs and bars in Gary, Indiana, moving further afield as their talents grew. Even early on, Michael exhibited an extraordinary talent that set him apart from his brothers. Eventually, he began to dabble in solo work. This lead to Michael breaking ranks with his brothers, and in 1982, Michael released the world's largest-selling album of all time, “Thriller.” This album produced seven hit singles, breaking more records yet again, and went on to sell over fifty million copies worldwide. Michael was also amongst the first to utilize music videos or to promote singles from his album. He worked with the best directors and producers, using the latest technology and special effects for the hit song “Billie Jean.” Later, the short film “Thriller” used the latest makeup technology combined with fantastic dancing and choreography to produce a 14-minute video that drew rave reviews. In 1983, Michael performed the now-legendary moonwalk for the first time on the Motown 25 years' anniversary show. This performance launched Michael into previously uncharted territory for a musical act. 1984 saw Michael win a record-breaking eight Grammy awards in one night. Next, Michael released his much-awaited third solo album, entitled “Bad,” and launched his record-breaking first solo world tour. At the end of the 1980s, Michael was named “Artist of the Decade” for his successes.
The 1990s began with Michael signing the largest ever recording contract with Sony Music, and releasing his fourth solo album, “Dangerous.” He toured world again in 1992, taking his concerts to countries that had never before been visited by a pop artist. Also Michael founded the Heal the World Foundation to help improve the lives of children across the world. Throughout the rest of his life, Michael released more albums, participated in more tours, and secured his place as the most famous and recognizable musical act of all time. In March 2009, Michael announced a comeback tour at the O2 Arena in London to start in July 2009, initially for ten dates. However, demand was so great that the tour was increased to fifty dates with over 750,000 tickets sold. All tickets sold out within minutes of being released. Sadly, “The King of Pop” died unexpectedly before the tour could begin, but he will never be forgotten, and his contributions to music and the world at large will live on forever.
